Bread of Life has been one of the top 5 purchasers and distributors of free food in Eastern Massachusetts since 2003, according to the Greater Boston Food Bank. We provided the equivalent of over 470,000 meals to hungry, homeless and isolated people in 2011.

Holiday Meals are offered at Christmas/Chanuka, Easter/Passover and Thanksgiving. We provided over  400 turkeys to families at Thanksgiving, and delivered over 360 Thanksgiving meals to elderly shut-ins and homeless families. During the Christmas holidays, we provide gifts and winter clothing for our Christmas dinner guests.

The Mobile Homeless Outreach, run in cooperation with Tri-CAP and Tri-City Mental Health, is in its twelfth year. Three outreach workers attend Bread of Life dinners to help homeless single people from Malden, Medford and Everett obtain shelter, housing, employment and medical care. Bread of Life also provides transportation for homeless individuals to pick up furniture and appliances once they find housing.

The ShareWood Project provides free health care for dinner guests and anyone from the community every Tuesday evening at First Church Congregational in Malden.

The Clothing Ministry provides free clothing, coats, blankets, shoes and household items at each evening meal.
