The Bread of Life has been one of the top 5 purchasers and distributors of free food in Eastern Massachusetts since 2003, according to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Holiday Meals were offered at Christmas/Chanuka, Easter/Passover and Thanksgiving. We provided 412 families with turkeys and hams at Thanksgiving, and delivered Thanksgiving meals to 257 elderly shut-ins. During the Christmas holidays, we provided gifts of toys and winter clothing for all the homeless children in the motels we serve, working in cooperation with Tri-City Community Action Program (Tri-CAP).

The Mobile Homeless Outreach, run in cooperation with Tri-CAP and Tri-City Mental Health, is in its eighth year. Three outreach workers attend Bread of Life dinners to help homeless single people from Malden, Medford and Everett obtain shelter, housing, employment and medical care. Bread of Life also provides transportation for homeless individuals to pick up furniture and appliances once they find housing.

Caring and Sharing, a weekly spiritual support group convened by two dinner guests, meets every Wednesday after the meal for sharing, discussion and prayer.

The ShareWood Project provides free health care for dinner guests and anyone from the community every Tuesday evening at Centre United Methodist Church in Malden.

The Clothing Ministry provides free clothing, coats, blankets, shoes and household items at each evening meal.
